​"In order to paint lighthouses, it is important to know the lighthouse inside and out from the structural  3D  perspective,  the surrounding  environment, the history of the keepers, the dramatic rescues of ships and lives that were saved, or lost, and the sunken ships off the coast. This knowledge provides an acute inner awareness that appears in my work.  The paint, palette, color mixing, aesthetics of the wind, sky, sea grasses, color of the ocean, light, reflections, time of day and weather combine to create the magic that comes through during the painting process."
